Our Newest Porch-Dwellers

As the vision for Painted Porch developed, before we opened our doors in 2019, we spent years reflecting on the interpersonal depth that we feel is essential for responsible and transformative advisory relationships. If vulnerability, joy, and gratitude are crucial components in a financial life well lived, it just makes sense that an advisory firm should embody those values. In practice, that means that each new hire should promote our mission through their intrinsic alignment with our values.

We give careful consideration to the hiring process. We see it as an expression of our values and mission. Painted Porch is staffed by human beings seeking their own self-actualization through the meaningful relationships they create with others. Taking the time to vet the values and character of new team members pays off: it imbues the company culture with appreciation, encouragement, commitment to quality, personal development, and self-esteem. When these qualities blossom among the team, the benefits cascade down to our clients and the community at large.

We are honored to announce the addition of three new Porch-dwellers, whose qualifications and character will improve clients’ lives and facilitate our revolutionary model of wealth management.

Lauren Hill—our newest Client Concierge—is a Maryland native who resides in sunny Los Angeles. She studied International Affairs and Business at Florida State University. Before coming to the Porch, she held a client-facing position in a company developing covid tests. She is remarkably self-directed and inclined to tackle complex problems; she’s an avid learner and we are pleased to foster her growing knowledge in the investment management sector. Yet as curious and intelligent as she is, she says that “what I really value is quality time and quality connections.” She strives to provide clear and comprehensive assistance to clients and colleagues, and she aspires to something more: to provide true care. Lauren understands that there are no shortcuts in relationship-building. She is excited to be a part of demystifying finance and empowering our community.

Outside the office, Lauren is an accomplished actress on the stage and the screen. She studied at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts and notably appeared in the play “White People Drinking.” She is fascinated by the power of art to expose truth through artifice.

It is our privilege to welcome Tatiana Woroch to Painted Porch as a Senior Client Concierge. She started out working dog days in the hedge fund industry but had a realization: “I wasn’t put on this planet to work.” In 2012, she packed a car and drove from her native New York to southern California, ready to reinvent herself. Much to our good fortune, she found her way in the advisory world. The emphasis Painted Porch places on genuine relationships and holistic advice appealed to her. She’s an assiduous professional who challenges her teammates to do their best work; yet she also values camaraderie. That combination turned our heads.

When she’s not working, Tatiana can often be found enjoying nature with her two young children. She is bringing them up speaking Ukrainian and eating traditional cuisine, preserving a close connection to her heritage.

Mark Bachman joins us as an Associate working out of Dallas/Fort Worth. Hailing from a small farm town in Kansas, he studied finance and business management at Wichita State before earning the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2018. Mark’s career began in corporate finance but as he looked at the career path ahead, he couldn’t escape the feeling that he needed a change to achieve personal fulfillment. He stumbled upon Painted Porch: “It was like nothing I’d ever seen before,” he said. Mark had always avoided asset management because sales is so pervasive in that field. He wanted to help people, not sell to them. He’d long offered financial advice to friends and family, sharing the insights of his passion and professional experience. The Painted Porch mission, values, and approach aligned with his own desires, and the rest is history.

Mark is easygoing and down-to-earth, yet also adventurous. Perhaps because of his rural roots, world travel is one of his great interests. So far, he and his wife Lauren have checked Greece, Spain, Portugal, and Costa Rica off the bucket list. As an enthusiastic golfer, he hopes to visit greens around the globe. In the meantime, he focuses on health and happiness, living in the moment surrounded by people he enjoys. He likes reading, cooking, board games, and spoiling his dog, Milo.

The work we do at Painted Porch is deeply personal, both because we delve into intimate detail as financial planners and because our work means so much to us.
