Layoffs: navigating crisis and opportunity

Recent headlines about layoffs at companies like Meta, Oracle, Atlassian and others remind us how hard big life transitions can be, especially the ones you don’t choose.  Our hearts go out to all the people impacted, particularly anyone who is feeling a little in shock or afraid about what’s ahead.

You are not alone!

In our experience, grounding in facts and what’s under our control can be a big positive step early in the process.  For those who are ready, these transitions can become opportunities to reexamine their path and, at times, move toward deeper purpose or a broader vision for their lives.

We’ve seen planning have a huge impact.  And it’s not too late because the layoff has already happened.  A financial plan can help clarify your runway, frame your long-term plan with new career pathways, and get grounded in the factors that have the deepest impact on your life and finances.  And, if you’re ready, it can inspire us to truly turn what may at first feel like a crisis into an opportunity.

Our latest roundtable discussion with Brian Lloyd, Devon Frazier, Candidate for CFP® , Craig Schmitt, and Justin Vlaanderen, CFP®, focuses on planning through transitions. We hope it’s helpful for anyone who needs to hear it right now: Watch here

We love this work.  Please reach out if we can help!
