As we continue our Get to Know Our Team series, we’re thrilled to introduce one of our recent additions to Painted Porch—Grace McClellan. Grace joined us in January 2025 and has already made an incredible impact on our “Help First” program and our existing client base.
Find out more about Grace’s day-to-day and the value that resonates with her most in her video!
Born and raised in Berkeley, California, Grace has always had a passion for helping people feel confident and informed about their financial choices.
“Financial planning feels meaningful to me because I get to help people turn their long-term goals into something real and achievable. I love seeing the difference it makes, not just for clients but also in my own life and in the lives of my friends and family as I share what I’ve learned.”
Grace earned her BA in Global Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She later expanded her skills by completing Wharton’s Financial Analytics program and gained hands-on experience in data-driven forecasting and financial strategy.
When asked what set Painted Porch apart from other firms, Grace shared what immediately drew her in:
“The Help First Process is something that is truly unique to Porch! Everyone here genuinely wants to support clients and non-clients as people, not just manage investments. This mindset is so special and makes it a joy to work alongside coworkers and clients.”
That alignment of values made Grace a great fit from day one.
Grace’s curiosity extends far beyond financial planning! She’s also had the opportunity to study abroad in Nanjing, China, and Seoul, South Korea, and to participate in intensive language programs in Chinese and Korean. Both cities, she says, were full of fantastic food, vibrant culture, and a sense of adventure that made every day exciting.
Living abroad also helped her build confidence and independence—an experience that continues to influence her approach to problem-solving and supporting clients.
Outside of work, Grace brings that same enthusiasm to her personal passions such as cooking, pickleball, and of course, traveling
